Adut Akech, for instance, donned a beaded bouclé gown and a selection of spectacular jewels, including a decorated brooch (with rainbow gems) and a shimmering lariat necklace. No wonder, given that founder of the maison, Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, was inseparable from her string of pearls and once remarked: “I want my jewellery to be like ribbons in a woman’s hands. Supple and flexible.”
